The LockStar module from Good Lock has long been a favorite tool for Galaxy users thanks to its flexible lock screen customization capabilities. One of the most popular features is the ability to personalize notifications on the lock screen with options to change size, transparency, and color. This helps users control how notifications appear in their own style. However, with the One UI 7.0 update, this customization ability has been removed.
According to Samsung, users will not be able to change the look of notifications on the lock screen via LockStar after upgrading to One UI 7.0. Even if the module is installed, any changes to the size, style, or transparency of the notification will no longer be effective. Samsung has officially confirmed that this feature is no longer supported in the new version.
Previously, LockStar offered deeper customization than Samsung’s default settings, allowing users to tweak notifications to blend in with their wallpaper or stand out more for easier visibility. However, One UI 7.0 users will have to give up that flexibility. A Samsung community moderator confirmed that the feature is currently not supported in One UI 7.0, but may be restored in future updates if enough people request it.
Meanwhile, users still on One UI 6.1.1 or earlier can still personalize their lock screen notifications to their liking. But for those who have updated, they’ll have to get used to the change.
However, LockStar on One UI 7.0 hasn’t been completely forgotten. The new update still brings many other useful tools and features such as support for third-party widgets, an expanded favorite apps menu for shortcuts, and support for stickers from the Galaxy Store. In addition, users can also customize help text on the lock screen, adjust screen timeout, and change the lock icon with a custom image. The new “Reorder items” feature also allows for a more flexible arrangement of widgets, making the lock screen more lively and useful.
